The Maritime Dairy Industry Award

Various partners of the Maritime dairy industry have established the Maritime Dairy Industry Awards in order to support the academic efforts of students committed to securing the future of a successful Canadian dairy industry. Two $2000 scholarships will be awarded. The application deadline for this award is April 30th 2012.

Application Requirements

  • Resident of either N.S., N.B. or P.E.I. (minimum of 24 months prior to post-secondary studies).
  • Currently attending a post-secondary education institution within Canada.
  • Completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education and currently enrolled in a program that has application to the dairy industry.
  • Applicant must show professional and academic promise and a commitment and interest in the dairy industry.
  • Applicant must complete the application form; include an updated résumé, a one-page letter stating their commitment and interest in the dairy industry, official transcripts of marks for all completed years in post-secondary education; and have three reference letters (at least one from a professor) sent to the Scholarship Committee.

Selection will be based on the following:

  • Application requirements
  • Academic standing
  • Potential contribution and commitment to the dairy industry

Deadline

Completed applications must be received by The Maritime Dairy Industry Award Committee in care of Dairy Farmers of Canada no later than April 30th 2012.

Are you a Past Recipient?
Unfortunately, past recipients of the Maritime Dairy Industry Award will not qualify for a second award. Applicants re-applying for the scholarship should ensure that all new documents are sent as the Scholarship Committee will not review applications from previous years. If all requested documentation listed in the “Application Requirements” section is not received at the Dairy Farmers of Canada office by April 30th, the applicant will be automatically disqualified.

Note: The cash awards will be given to the successful candidates the following September, upon the institution’s official confirmation of enrollment in the applicant's field of study for the academic year.
